- About Us
GOLDENBROOK HOSTAS specializes in providing our customers with newer varieties of Hostas as well as the tried and true varieties. We grow hostas both in pots and in the field. We are pleased to be able to offer over 400 varieties. Each year we continue to add new Hostas to our gardens. As new varieties are available, they will be added to this site. For 2009, we have added several FOoSF hostas. Look under the LINKS page check out their site. Fantastic new hostas!
Look for new varieties with more intensely rippled edges such as H. ‘Clovelly’, H. ‘The Razor’s Edge’, H. ‘Candy Dish’, and H. ‘Jaws’. WOW!
We’ve added H. ‘Mango Tango’ to put with H. ‘Stitch in Time’, and H. ‘Cat and Mouse’ to add to your Mouse Ears collection. Look for Blue Flame, Incoming, Lakeside Storm Watch, Great Arrival and Nightlife! Also, the gigantic H. ‘Empress Wu’ will be ready to sell in the spring. 2009 will be an exciting year for all you hosta lovers out there!!
Send me your wish lists and I’ll try to add as many of them as we can. Email me at: goldenbrookhostas@bbste.com
We have spent 10 years transforming our one-acre property into a tranquil oasis of both shade and full-sun gardens. A landscaper by profession, Carel has devoted endless hours to developing a backyard retreat which features a Victorian conservatory surrounded by mature specimen hosta and an immense pond accented with cannas and tropical plants.
We have extensive show gardens and we encourage our customers to come and pick out their favorite hostas. Bus Tours and garden clubs are always welcomed and we serve refreshments for tours. We are open on MOST weekends from May to October. For other times, you will need to call ahead to ensure we are home. (905-449-5906).
We inspect and test our hostas carefully to ensure we are virus (HVX) free.
Mail orders (Canada only) will be shipped by express post on Monday mornings.
Exact shipping costs will be determined by your order. Larger plants, of
course, cost more to ship. Order early to ensure your favorites are available,
as some of the newer varieties are very limited supply and they do sell out
quickly.
Also available this year, we will be carrying Mark Zilis’ new book ‘The Hostapedia’. It will be available in early April. We will have signed copies available for our customers. The fantastic book has 1128 pages and 1900 colour photos. It is a 9” x 12” hardcover. To order yours send an email to the address above. It will retail at $110. plus shipping. Ontario Hosta Society Members will receive a 10% discount. Please let me know that you are a member when you email me.
